The genres that quietly save your battery

Battery anxiety is real when you game on a phone, so I started paying attention to which types of games drain you fastest. The answers were pretty predictable once I tracked them.

3D racers and big RPGs are the heavy hitters. Neon Drift Circuit and Emberfall Saga both warmed my phone and ate the battery in long sessions. That's the price of fancy rendering and high frame rates.

At the other end, management sims and simple casual games sip power. Skybound Dispatch is mostly static menus, and Legends of Slots has no heavy graphics at all, so both barely registered on the battery meter during a half hour of play.

If you're heading somewhere without a charger, lean toward turn-based, menu-driven, or flat-art games. Save the glossy racers for when you're near an outlet.
